What does freedom mean to you?
These are the questions that usually cross my mind whenever I think about freedom. What’s on your mind about it?
The meaning of freedom may vary for each person. For me, the true sense of freedom is to be a better person than my younger self. The happier version of me who finds happiness in simple things. The sad, anxious version of me, constantly worries about the future, career life, and almost everything.
I feel the true sense of freedom will come when we accept ourselves the way we are and always strive to be a better person. There’s a fine line between accepting ourselves and changing ourselves. Let me differentiate this both.
For instance, if you feel that you are too aggressive that doesn’t mean you should accept yourself the way you are, instead, you should try to be calm, should not react instantly in any situation. It is important to observe ourselves and try to be resilient.
We constantly compare ourselves to others, we feel insecure, inferior but remember one thing that you are not alone to feel this way. We all feel this way and we are constantly trying to chase freedom and happiness in this fast-moving digital world.
True freedom is to “be the glorious mess”, “to be the vulnerable person”, “to be the happiest person”, “to be the excited person” to be the person who you really want to be irrespective of gender, society rules and people’s opinion about you.
