The Difficult Process of Promoting Your Medium Posts

We only have so much time in the day!

Writing on Medium is great for practising your craft. You can write in a variety of topics which stretches you as a writer. When you first start writing on this platform it feels easy, relaxing almost.

That is, once you get over the fear of pushing the publish button for the first time of course.

But when you have written a few posts and received some claps and engagement, another problem rears its ugly head, promotion!

I don't know about you but I hate promoting my articles. I’m not very good at it and it takes a huge chunk of time too.

You have to post to your Facebook page then you're Twitter account. It’s also a benefit to have an Instagram and Pinterest account. Oh and I almost forgot a Linkedin account wouldn't hurt either!

Is it just me that finds it all overwhelming?

There are also Facebook groups you can post in and make connections with other writers. It helps to be active in those groups, did I mention you need to join more than one?

Yes, to get the maximum benefit it helps to be a member of a few groups. The time that sucks out of your day is huge, but you need those claps right!

The only way to build up your Medium presence and get those monies is to dedicate your time to do all of the above.

Then you need to write as well. Usually, I’m pretty burned out after all the promotion. This leaves me feeling empty and with no clue what to write…
