Refining Metanoia

Metanoia- to change ones life, mindset, heart, or way of life.

I added the definition of this newly discovered word. When I saw and read this definition I fell in love. We all go through the process of Metanoia in our life’s journeys. I recently went through mine I had went through the storm of loving, lost, and grief. I had to set the life sails for a betrayal of a false friend, weather the storm of the love of my life to walk out on our relationship. And grieving the death of my beloved grandmother within a years time.

I dove into a lot of self help books, prayed for positivity and peace, traveled solo to far away places, burned the bridges of people that brought negativity into my life and cut a lot of toxic loss relationships. Practicing minimalist in my home and mindset work and life balance. Changed my eating habits. All to feel better about myself. Good goals to keep but it was the heart change that has me writing this article today.

When we face situations in our lives we do two things we run from them or we face them. In all of this I picked up an orange book called

“Sublet art of not giving a fuck”by Mark Manson

He left me with the question in his book

“we have good problems, if you are willing to struggle for the process you are willing too enjoy the success. You have to fall in love with the process of the struggle.”

And this may be a word no one likes is struggle yet we do it all the time. And that is where our process of growth comes is through struggle we refine ourselves as individuals.

And refinement is a powerful tool to self. My biggest question is how can I apply these handful of hardships to my life and not forget the process. That is for the reader to decide on your own terms.

I personally allowed my heart to change instead of becoming bitter and staying bitter I allowed myself to become better, wise yet strong and still stay genuine. I rather lead by example and quiet actions than loud words. I stay humble when life throws hardships that can bring you to your knees and storms that never seem to end that is the true test of character.

Metanoia is a quiet process a very humbling experience. And if you weather through you will come out to your fullest potential self. And allowing your heart to change is the first step then you’re mind will follow.

So today to my readers if you are going through any kind of personal struggle and life hardships I leave you with

The encouraging words

“You cant turn the wind but you can turn the sails.”
